I first heard this piece played on piano by a late family friend of ours. Nancy, a former student of W@lter P1ston's, finished the piece and said, "You know, that's nice, but I like it in Eb better". She proceeded to rattle the piece off in Eb. I was shocked, and to this day, I usually try to learn pieces in at least 3 keys if I have time, it's a great exercise. I'd like another stab at this one especially, I can really hear the B string all over the place in parts, and the tempi are a bit erratic. Update 12/31/2006: I haven't played this piece in close to 10 years, but decided to relearn it in the original key now that I'm stringing E-F. I posted a pretty poor take to YouTube, for some reason. 20070518 Update: I've switched over to a Flash Player, and for some reason the tracks in the playlist seem to play in the wrong order sometimes, I'll figure that out. |
